Kick off your day in the north of Ōhau at Salt & Pepper Café. Known for their range of delicious breakfasts you’re sure to find something to suit your taste buds. Indulge in a Salt & Pepper Big Breakfast, try an Eggs (Benniks) Benedict made with local cage free eggs or treat your sweet tooth to a Banana and Almond Meal French Toast! While you’re there, make sure to check out The Garden Depot and Bennik’s Eggs & Farm Shop, full of fantastic local treasures.

Pick your own

During summer, head down the road to Shirley's Strawberries. With some of the juiciest strawberries around, they offer a pick-your-own* experience, allowing you to taste test the goods, while filling your container to the brim. Need to cool down? They occasionally serve real fruit ice cream too!

Burgers for lunch

For the ultimate roadside food stop on State Highway 1, Manakau Market serves up mouth-watering burgers. From the Double Cheeseburger and Veggie Burger to our personal favourite, the Southern Fried Chicken Burger, these treats are sure to have you salivating. Plus, they offer fresh veggies for a bonus grocery stop!
