The Adventure Park, Levin

Located on the main street of Levin, the Adventure Park is hard to beat. Proudly being the biggest in Horowhenua, this playground boasts a flying fox, multiple playground set ups for different ages, swings, a hamster wheel, a giant slide and even a miniature train!

River loop playground, Foxton

Situated at the site of the town’s old port, the River Loop Playground has a ‘ship’ theme where an old historic port building can still be seen nearby. This playground features swings, a slide, walkway, BBQ areas and more!

Kennedy Drive Reserve, Levin

This neighbourhood park features not only a playground but also a traditional style skate bowl, popular with skaters and BMX riders, and a BMX track. This park is also dog friendly, with dogs being allowed off-leash.

Jubilee Park, Levin

Fondly known by locals as the ‘Donald Duck Park’, this park features an array of your favourite quaint Disney Characters, adding to the charm of this playground. Did we mention there’s also a brand new splash pad for the kids to use on those hot summer days!

Hyde Park, Shannon

This local playground is set in a residential area and has plenty of play equipment and picnic areas. A good place to enjoy a game with the family.

Holben/ Te Wharangi Reserve, Foxton Beach

Freshly renovated, with ponds, a childrens’ playground, bike skills area, basketball hoop, table tennis table, a skating area and situated close to a café, it’s a popular family picnic spot in summer. Not to mention it’s a short walk away from some of the best bird watching spots in the region.

Hank Edwards Reserve, Waikawa Beach

Just beside the bridge where the Waikawa Stream goes out to sea, Hank Edwards Reserve is the perfect family picnic spot, with picnic tables, a basketball hoop and a childrens’ playground.

Gladys Taylor Park, Levin

Set in front of the Levin Aquatic Centre, this small pirate ship themed playground lies in the heart of Levin and is a perfect picnic spot to go to right after your swim.

Middle Earth Adventure Park, Waitārere Beach

Set amongst the trees, this unique playground has been lovingly created by locals using recycled and upcycled materials. Our lawyers said to ‘play at your own risk’.

Hokio Reserve, Hokio Beach

A delightful, sheltered park area with a stream that runs alongside, Hokio Reserve features a childrens’ playground, basketball hoop and BBQ – a great place to end your day at the beach!
